Extra! MCRI Wins in Mich. Supreme Court (6-1), BAMN Final Appeal Exhausted

The Michigan Civil Rights Initiative (MCRI) has cleared its final legal obstacle filed by BAMN (By Any Means Necessary). Ballot proposal 06-02 will be on the ballot in November.

The Michigan Supreme Court has issued two orders, here and here denying certiorari (review) to BAMN and its amicus allies the ACLU, NAACP, and a host of other players.

6 out of 7 Justices, including the moderate swing vote and 1 of 2 democrats, refused to even hear the BAMN cases because they were "not persuaded that the questions presented should be reviewed." BAMN's arguments were hinged on unproven assertions that some MCRI petitions misrepresented the petitions, but deeper analysis of those claims reveals that there was simply no merit to those assertions.
